Pet Grief and Healing

Losing a pet is a deeply painful experience. I said goodbye to my sweet Tessa, a liver and white Springer Spaniel, in September 2023. Each day, I find myself missing her more, cherishing the memories we made together. She wasn’t the sharpest pup in the pack, but what she lacked in smarts, she made up for in sweetness. One of our most memorable attempts at training was when I tried to teach her to roll over. That evening, I ended up with more scratches than successes, and both of us rolling on the floor with laughter—I with a treat in hand, and Tessa with her tail wagging uncontrollably. I think I might have deserved the treat just as much as she did! Tessa may not have mastered many tricks, but she certainly mastered the art of bringing joy. She will always be remembered, her sweet antics forever etched in my heart.

Please tell us of some of your memories. We would love to hear from you.
